WILL & DAN'S COLOURFUL AND FUN Gay WEDDING AT YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK

"Set Fire To The Rain"

I'm not sure I have the vocabulary to explain what happened with this simply glowing couple and their incredible wedding day... but I'm going to try and explain.

Will & Dan chose to have their colourful gay Wedding at Yorkshire Sculpture Park and now knowing them like I do, it was the perfect choice. They have a love for for all things art, colour and nature, so an outdoor wedding ceremony at YSP in and amongst their favourite sculptures with their nearest and dearest all close by would be the most perfect setting for their all important and extremely moving personal vows. Obviously a backup, indoor ceremony room was available but that plan was never really considered... not until 45 minutes before ceremony time when the heavens opened.

After getting ready at their own home but keeping apart as to add a bit of suspense, they each travelled separately to the venue. Finally meeting and enjoying an embrace, the waiting game ensued as the weather took a turn for the worse. After a bit of should we shouldn't with the registrar, the team at YSP sprung into action, erected a marquee and Will & Dan's outdoor ceremony at Yorkshire Sculpture Park was still game on to go ahead. If anything it proved that true love really can conquer all. Despite the heavy rain, the two grooms stood hand in hand in the open air as raindrops danced around them and all their guests looked on lovingly.

I personally knew as time went on through the morning that the possibility of rain was real and a potentially a huge challenge, but I was excited to push the limits of my creativity and inadvertently, my equipment. The rain was a blessing in disguise, allowing me to capture the real essence of what a wedding day should be and I feel the images I caught are made with authenticity, reflecting the real and true emotions of Will, Dan and their heroic weather bearing guests!

Throughout the day, I was struck by the vibrant energy and colourful personalities of everyone in attendance. The speeches were heartfelt and highly emotional, bringing tears to the eyes of even the most stoic guests. And yet, there was a sense of fun and lightheartedness that permeated the entire event. Despite the rain, everyone remained committed to making this wedding one that Will & Dan would never forget.

This was my first wedding with an all Fuji photography system, and I have to say that I was impressed with how it performed. It survived the rain and provided me with the tools I needed to capture the love and warmth of this unique ceremony.

In conclusion, Will & Dan's outdoor ceremony at Yorkshire Sculpture Park was a day full of love, warmth, and unforgettable moments. Despite the rain, everyone persevered to make it a success. As a photographer, I was thrilled to be a part of such a beautiful event, and I hope that the photographs I captured will help to preserve these memories for years to come.
