Victoria & James

15.06.18

Victoria and James are two of the hardest working, time giving and life living people I know.  They are also the epitome of a couple very much in love and I am honored to not only have been asked by them to photograph their special day at Waterton Park Hotel but to also be able to call them my friends.

Vic and Jay practically live in the entertainment world and I've known them both via my DJ career for years.  Vic is the number one person in the country when comes to providing specialty acts such as fire breathers or stilt walkers and Jay is a well known, top-notch videographer.  Together they are like some sort of superhuman entertainment media duo who planned a wedding together... can you see where this is going!? Spoiler alert - its a bit epic!

Towards the end of last year, Vic asked me if I was free on their date and if I would consider photographing their wedding day for them.  She had already asked her close friend Romeyo of Digital Colours Photography but admitted to me they may need a second photographer as there was so much going on.  She then listed "some" of the things she had planned; surprising Jay with a helicopter to get to the venue, a full Superhero theme including guest appearance from Batman and Iron Man, a wedding style Sports Day section, a 30 people strong bridal party, a Magician, a sax player, an outdoor first dance, singing waiters, doggy ring bearers, a BBQ... She was right, she needed a second photographer. She also, however, had me at Helicopter!

Fast forward to the morning of their day and I joined Jay and the guys at Hollins Hall Hotel near Leeds/Bradford airport. Jay had no idea about the helicopter so all morning was questioning how people were getting to the venue, which was almost 30 miles away. However, as soon as the taxi pulled into the Heliport, best man Scott pulled out his phone with a video from Vic explaining what was going on and we all jumped on board.  From that moment on, the entire day was an incredible rollercoaster of laughter, emotion, and entertainment, easily becoming one of the most memorable weddings I have been lucky enough to photograph.

Thank you Victoria & James for having me along, it truly was an honor.
