Ashlea & Daniel - Pyramid Beach, Corfu

Corfu Wedding Photography

My god, Martyn we are in tears!! They are beautiful! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

The Greek island of Corfu is simply breathtaking and one place I had unfortunately never been to before this wedding. Ashlea & Dan however fully understand it’s beauty and go there often thanks to a family connection, which meant it made the perfect sense to have it as the backdrop for their special day, utilizing the luxurious apartments and private sandy shores of the Pyramid Beach Resort. Choosing me as their Corfu Destination Wedding Photographer when they already have special connections to the island meant the pressure really was on. However, as you’ll see in the images below, Ashlea & Dan’s day really was truly special, with plenty of intimate and genuine wedding day moments for me to capture and for them to cherish forever.

Below is a selection of my favourite photographs from Ashlea & Dan’s Corfu Beach Wedding and you can read more about their amazing story further down.

Corfu destination wedding

A romantic Pre-wedding sunset shoot, a bridesmaid tribe made up of professional hair and makeup artists, a beautifully Greek ceremony and a wedding party on the beach! What more do you need??

More than just the Photographer

Being Ashlea & Daniel’s Corfu Wedding photographer was an amazing experience, but it didn’t happen overnight. Around 2 years ago, Ashlea was doing Emma’s makeup on her wedding day and casually asked me if I’d shot any weddings abroad. Fast forward to Emma & Paul’s wedding collection being shared online and Ashlea got back in touch. Being a bridal makeup artist she had seen many wedding photographers work but admitted she had fallen in love my candid and natural style as well as my relaxed approach on the day and wondered if I would be free to fly to Corfu and capture her and Dan’s wedding. Of course I jumped at the chance and we started a lovely long conversation about how her and Dan already had connections in Corfu, how it was the only place for them to get married with all their family and how a relaxed approach to photography was super important to them.

Over the 3 days I spent in Corfu, I really got to know Ashlea, Dan and all their friends and family. We managed to have a romantic PreWedding shoot up in the mountains which did involve a rather sketchy drive on something I wouldn’t really call a road. Their wedding day started with family breakfasts for both sides before the preparations got started. Ashlea’s bridesmaids were all girls from her salon, Glamour Studios, which meant the bridal team getting ready process was a rather calm and efficient affair. Once dresses were donned, the nerves started to kick in a little and the traditional Greek brand were ready to lead Ashlea and the girls down to the beach. Alongside Daniel and all their guests down on the beach was Aris, the man behind Belli Momenti Wedding planners and the person in charge of Ashlea & Daniel’s wedding ceremony. Ari is the go to man in Corfu when it comes to Greek destination weddings and helped them piece their dream wedding together. After a traditional and rather emotional Ceremony, he was around all day to make sure the happy couple and their guests got everything they needed, which included an epic night time beach party with fireworks and and Saxophonist! The party went on into the early hours and really was something special.

On the trip back I even had the opportunity to take my first steps towards some form of travel street photography. The sun was setting just in the right place while I waited to board the plane and with a little bit of patience, the final image of mirroring stenson silhouette was created and I’m rather happy with it! I might even try to do a little more next time the opportunity arises.

From the moment I landed I was welcomed with open arms and just became another guest. From the bottom of my heart, Ashlea & Dan thank you so much for putting your trust in me and asking me to be your Corfu wedding photographer. It is a wedding that will stick with me forever and I will cherish the memories we all made

A wedding venue on the beach

On the beautiful beach of Saint Spiridon in the north of Corfu is the stone and marble Pyramid complex. It overlooks its own private beach and is the perfect location to watch the sun go down over the tranquil Ionian Sea. Flashed with traditional Greek styling and modern cuisine, it really is the perfect place to host your own Corfu destination wedding.
