Here is the simply wonderful day of Gemma & Gary, who asked me to be their Crow Hill wedding photographer just over a year ago.  I'm pretty sure you'll be able to tell by the massive smiles on both Gemma and Gary's faces but their day was filled with infectious laughter and fun from start to finish.

The day started out with absolutely gorgeous sunshine which stayed with us all day long for a real summer’s day wedding. I joined Gemma and her girls nice and early inside the main house while my second photographer for the day, Sam from Moss Wedding Films (he takes pretty good pictures as well as making amazing videos) was with Gary and the guys in the West Wing. After lots of laughter and a few tears from both the adults and the children, we headed outside for a truly stunning ceremony. Gemma's dress, along with Gary's reaction to her in it, completely stole the show and could be a contender for dress of the year!

After some bubbles, canapés and lots of mingling, we grabbed some family photos and managed a quick round of portraits before heading into the stunning marquee for the wedding breakfast and hilarious speeches. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of their control, Gemma and Gary had to have a new wedding cake made for their day rather last minute. The cake was beautiful but Gemma's dad Alan had also made a contingency cake, one of his infamous pie cakes, which neither Gemma or Gary knew anything about and the look on their faces was priceless.

Just before the sunset, we managed another very quick round of portraits before night time dancing duties called. This group knows how to party and as you can see the dance floor was full all night long... my kind of wedding!

One of the most special aspects of this day for me personally was being treated as one of the clan.  I had been lucky enough to get acquainted with quite a few of Gemma & Gary's family and friends the month before at Julie & Ben's wedding. Already knowing people by name and being included in the fun, laughter, and emotion was such a treat and when I bid my fair wells very late in the night, it felt like I was leaving a group of my own friends behind.  I only hope I can be involved in another wedding celebration with this group of amazing people really soon.

Thank you, Gemma & Gary, for having us along for your day, it was truly amazing!
